Books for Bakers

There are a few books that I would love to get this year! So naturally I think other bakers would like to get them as well. I remember my mother reading cookbooks late into the night and every time I am ooohing and ahhhing recipes I think about her and how I am following so closely in her footsteps.  Cookbooks of all kinds make such wonderful gifts! book

First up is i love macaroons by Hisako Ogita a Japanese pastry chef, with step by step insturctions on creating perfect Macaroons.  I must admit from seeing first hand a class full of pastry students attempting to make these there is a true art behind it, but this book allows for the novice to become a master. And around $10 OK enough said.book1This book is wonderful! I got it earlier this year when it came out and I have tried a handful of the recipes, all with great results. Sarah Magid makes beautiful cakes and desserts all from organic and healthier ingredients. There is a great kids dessert section, and I love the thought of kids learning the art of baking and reaping sweet rewards. Her book Organic and Chic is just a delight to look at and enjoy! book2I can’t wait to get my hands on this one, with a mix of memoir and recipes from his life in France.  A mix of  savory and sweet recipes so an ideal gift for the passionate home cook. Pastry chefs are a particular breed and David Lebovitz has a way of accounting his adventures that will captivate! All of the books here can be found on Amazon.com.  Happy gifting!
